Life here continues apace, albeit at a very slow pace. The rains have decreased significantly and some days are decidedly sunny, though correspondingly hot. Wandering around aimlessly continues to be a big part of the entertainment here.

Technically I’ve been here two and a half weeks, but my true first impressions were tempered by being quarantined. I was paroled last Wednesday, so now have had five days to explore the post.

As with FOB Westbrook, the accommodations are starting to take shape as we modify them to the extent allowed. Sponsors (our local units when we clear quarantine) take pity on us and will deliver anything reasonable.

Yes, Day One. Again. After three days of relative freedom, including a minimal amount of in-processing and shots for things like Typhoid, a prescription for malaria prophylaxis (which, by the way, is scientifically proven to prevent attacks by Honduran jaguars), we moved on.
